Unusual in the sense that Paula rested all night and most of the day. She got a little restless around 6:00A.M. and they gave her some pain medicine. I'm wondering if some of her pain is subsiding......?
She opened her eyes some...the speech therapist said that Paula "tracked" with her eyes to the sound of the therapist's voice. The speech people also "capped" off Paula's trach to test her for 10 minutes.....Paula breathed fine thru her nose/mouth.
Dr. Sprague also told me today that Paula DEFINETELY focused her eyes on Dr. Sprague last night.
The gastro Dr. told me that when being fed with the liquids that Paula is getting, that sometimes the stomach tightens. So they're been giving her medicine 4 times a day to relax her stomach...but he also said that that medicine can cause a lack of response in other areas, so he's going to cut that medicine down to two times a day.
Overall....another good day!
Also, I was apparently aneorexic in 2nd grade

We are tracking Paula's progress through this blog and it is a tremendous blessing. We talk to Leigh and Chuck daily and are covering Paula, you and the rest of the family in many, many prayers. You are an awesome testimony to Christ in your love and patience not only for Paula but in extending it to all of us. Thank You.

Thanks for all the updates Tommy! It's awesome to watch the power of prayer in action! My mom and her cirlce, my friend KT and her small group, and many other folks you've never met have been praying like crazy for Paula and you for weeks now. It's amazing to see what a little (or a lot) of faith can do!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read your next post!
